The new CODIX 538 from Kübler can be integrated without difficulty into any CAN or CANopen® network in order to display locally any user-defined value. Numerical values can be directly scaled using a factor or offset from the display device. The display has a floating decimal point that can be inserted in any position.

CAN encoders can be read out directly, thanks to the Automatic Operational Mode.  The CAN-compliant display device is particularly easy to integrate, as it possesses automatic baud rate recognition and up to 16 node numbers that can be set easily via rotary switches. 

CODIX 538 supports CAN specifications 2.0A and 2.0B and a communication speed of up to 1 Mbit/s.
The unit comes equipped with a 6 digit 8mm high red 7 segment bright  LED display. Each segment can be directly written to, allowing not only values to be displayed but text messages also.  There will always be room for the display, thanks to its DIN housing that measures only 48mm x 24mm, with an installation depth of just 59mm. Reverse polarity protection likewise facilitates installation. On account of its high IP65 protection rating (from the front) the display can be easily used in industrial environments without the need for an additional protective housing.

The new universal preset counters Codix 923/924 from Kübler, are now available with multi-colour LED-look display.
The counters have a larger 2-line 6-digit LCD display with sign and leading zero suppression, which allows for easier readability of data. The display range is from -999 999 to + 999 999.
The new display technology is based on an economic LCD-technology with alternatively positive or negative red or green backlighting similar to LED displays. Optimal readability even in difficult lighting conditions is guaranteed by this new display technology. The differentiation between each displayed value is improved by the possibility to display the upper line in red and to program the lower line in either red or green.
A compact key-pad enables convenient direct entry of the presets by digit. Easy-to-understand annunciators provide information about the preset and the status of the outputs. 

The CODIX 923/924 are multitalented products that can handle the display, measurement and control of pulses (counter), frequencies (tacho) and time (timer), using numerous count functions and modes.
They thus offer a simple, cost-effective solution for many local standard control functions. When it comes to simple tasks, the many logic functions and preconfigured control functions offered by the CODIX 923/924 make these counters a real alternative to a PLC. They can be used for example as preset counters for process control, with up to 6 presets. They can also be used as batch counters for controlling lot sizes, as a function of individual quantities, or as totalising counters for process control, as a function of the total count. In an additional role, they offer secure monitoring of time, frequency, position and pulses.

The CODIX 923/924 come equipped to meet requirements of the user but can also be customised to his individual needs. Up to 10 inputs, up to 6 optocoupler outputs and up to 4 relay outputs are possible. In addition, versions with an RS 232/485 interface can be supplied. 

It is not necessary to have in-depth programming knowledge when installing or using these devices, eliminating the need for costly service engineers. With all count functions there is direct access to the programming mode. On top of everything, the units are really easy to operate thanks to the simple, easy-to-understand programming structure and the alpha-numeric display of the parameters.  The various functions can be programmed either absolute or as tracking presets via the direct preset entry. 

The counters boast a Teach-In function for error-free preset entry, a frequency display with fast display refresh and high accuracy (High Accuracy System), as well as many other count modes and functions.
The devices come factory-equipped with three predefined settings for the most common applications. If a parameter is modified, then the devices adopt the new function almost immediately: the programming is concluded in no time by means of the reset key. The functions Display Hold, Set and Teach-In can be called up via the new MPI input (Multiple Purpose Input).

Plug-in screw connectors with cage clamp terminals offer convenient time-saving installation. The front bezel is IP 65 sealed as standard, saving on additional time and effort for protecting the device during installation. And, of course, there will always be room for the Codix923/924 counters, thanks to their minimal installation depth.

With its new Position and Difference Preset Counter Type 572 Kübler is presenting a counter series, with two individually scalable encoder inputs, suitable for a wide range of challenging tasks. Channels A, /A, B, /B respectively of the encoder can be evaluated for count frequencies of up to 1 MHz per channel. Selectable operating modes include position, event counter, totalizing counter, difference counter, cut-to-length display, diameter calculator and batch counter; these can be combined with step or tracking presets to open up a wide spectrum of potential applications.

The device is equipped with two incremental inputs TTL, RS422 or HTL. Channels A and B, as well as the inverted channels /A and /B of the encoder, can be evaluated with a count frequency of 1 MHz per channel.  Moreover the device comes with 4 fast switching outputs each with 350 mA output current plus 4 fast programmable inputs with various functions including reset, gate, display memory, reference input or switching between the display values. The device can also be ordered with an optional fast analogue output , either 0/4 to 20 mA, +/-10 V or 0 to 10 V. All values can be freely scaled and can also be assigned separately from each other to both inputs. The 2 separate inputs can be calculated with respect to each other or used as monitoring functions, where the 2 values can be monitored with respect to each other.

The 572 can be operated either in one-channel or two-channel mode. The outputs, control inputs and analogue output can be attributed to the various display values.  Additional annunciators for status display facilitate use in the application.
The very bright LED display, 15 mm high (6 digit) and 10 mm high (8 digit) guarantee optimal readability in difficult light conditions or over a long distance.
Up to 3 display values are incorporated in one device: Display 1, Display 2 as well as the display calculated from 1 and 2.
AC and DC supply voltages are integrated in the device as standard, as well as two auxiliary power supplies for the sensors, 5.2 V DC and 24 V DC, which facilitate the installation.

Operating the device is very simple thanks to programming via just 4 keys and to the possibility of assigning dual functions to all the keys. The device comes with an RS232 interface as standard; this allows not only for fast setting of the parameters but also for reading out the values with a PC or PLC and for modifications during operation.

Kübler is introducing a completely new class of device class in the form of its HW 66 and SHW 76 meters: the combination of time and energy meter in a single device. Both energy consumption as well as operating hours are measured by the unique kWh/time dual display. Both values can be read off in parallel - in the electromechanical version this is even possible when no voltage is applied to the unit. The combi-solution was specially developed for hire equipment and machinery that consume a large amount of energy, especially as accurate, traceable billing is of great importance here. As this type of hire equipment does not always run at full speed, then just simply counting the number of hours run will not fully reflect the actual costs that have been incurred. Hence the correct measurement of time and energy consumption in one device is the optimal solution for a transparent statement of costs.

The new time and energy meters from Kübler are available in two different versions, to suit the desired application. The HW 66 proves to be the ideal device when it comes to fixed installations. The SHW 66 with its electronic LCD count mechanism is designed for mounting on a DIN-rail. The accuracy and safety of both meters are outstanding. Not only do they deliver accurate measurements but they are also capable of being officially calibrated and are non-resettable. Moreover the HW 66 is fully tamper-proof and displays both time and energy consumption even when no voltage is applied. This complies with PTB requirements. The DIN-rail version SHW 76 additionally offers connections that can be security sealed. A remote readout of kilowatt hours and time is possible via an option SO output.

Both of the new time and energy meters HW 66 and SHW 76 are identical in construction to existing hours-run meters, making them easy to use for substitution.

These well-liked CODIX displays, which come in the popular 24 x 48 mm format, have long been renowned for the many benefits they offer to customers:  the units are simple to operate thanks to the clear menu-driven programming.  High quality connectors save on valuable installation time.  The compact design of the CODIX units makes them ideal for use where space is at a premium.  The unusually bright LED display can easily be read from long distances.

Kübler helps increase the reliability of kWh meters and save on costsIn a number of countries manufacturers of kWh meters now have to offer a long-term warranty on their products. Since 1.10.2005 the Fritz Kübler GmbH Company of Villingen-Schwenningen in Germany , the market leader in the manufacture of counters for energy metering, now offers a 5 year warranty on all of its devices that are built into kWh meters. When it comes to supposedly cheaper, sometimes illegal, copies of German or European products made in the Far East , then any warranty offered is dubious. Such products, often of unknown origin, come from different sources, so it comes therefore as no surprise that batch quality and reliability can be very irregular. Service, advice and technical support fall by the wayside. If unfortunately this happens with critical components, such as the counter itself, then expected cost savings can quickly turn into large on-costs. In addition there are many patents in the field of counting mechanisms that a manufacturer of kWh meters could unwittingly infringe if he uses counterfeit copies.The 5 year warranty programme satisfies the customer need for reliability with lower costs. The patented K-series electromechanical micro counters from Kübler are the only such products on the market that are shockproof and at the same time 100% resistant to magnetic fields. They can be used in a wide variety of applications, for example in kWh meters and in medical equipment. The high shock resistance avoids false counts whilst the magnetic resistance rules out any manipulation. Many approvals in the field of medical technology or from the PTB (German National Metrology Institute) confirm the high quality of the units, manufactured fully automatically in Germany. The counters have a digit height of 5mm. Their very competitive pricing and the absolute data integrity make these products a very interesting proposition. The counters have a very low power consumption of less than 70 mW and are thus ideal for direct mounting on the PCB. They are available in various versions, including a number of customised ones. The 7 digit drum-type counter mechanism with pulse triggering displays the values in 5 x 3 mm figures - i.e. the same size as in a traditional Ferraris meter. Triggering can be initiated either by square-wave or needle pulses. Each incoming pulse advances the decimal position of the counting mechanism by 1/100 of a revolution. In this way the counting mechanisms can be directly controlled by energy metering ICs. The nominal voltage is 5 V DC - other supply voltages are available on request. The KWH 17 Series modules are far superior to traditional pulse counters thanks to their very low 25 mW power consumption. In contrast to LCD solutions they guarantee absolute data retention even if there is a power failure and are thus ideal for use in OEM applications.
